Let me just say that I am not a music theorist lol. I am just someone who loves music and wants to share how I got my start in music production, my progression in skill and knowledge, and how you can do the same when finding your own sound.
I began producing Inner Space with the intention of creating a soft, smooth and even sleepy kind of sound. I wanted to have the foundation of the song to have a low toned, base sound. I made sure to add instruments that added to that smooth sound.
When I first create a song, the title always comes last. In my opinion it isn't fitting to give a song its title or identity before it's even completed. Its like creating a book's title before writing the book itself. You can do it, but you'll probably end up changing the title a dozen times before its the right fit.
